一天，我宣布，我將去國外深造之后我的大學(xué)教育。我的決定能立即反對我的家人：為什么？我為什么要借留學(xué)一大筆錢，我可能會接受同樣的教育成本相對較低的在家嗎？我的答案是：除了知識，我可以獲得經(jīng)驗，那些呆在家里。
首先，經(jīng)驗是現(xiàn)實生活中使用外語的機(jī)會。當(dāng)一個人在家里學(xué)外語，效果無法用語言的學(xué)習(xí)與生活中不斷的使用比較。有沒有更好的機(jī)會來改善二語能力比生活在母語國家。生活在說英語的國家，如美國和澳大利亞幾年，比如，我的英語為母語的人將是完美的。
第二，國外生活和學(xué)習(xí)提供給我一個不同的世界觀。在大學(xué)校園里，外國學(xué)生很可能遭遇來自不同國家和地區(qū)的同行和接觸到不同的思想和價值觀。這讓我有一個有意義的理解不同的社會中，不可避免地看見我自己的國家，在一個新的光。
第三，國外的經(jīng)驗，因為它可能是令人沮喪和痛苦的，是有幫助的。一個人出國學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)驗更困難往往難以適應(yīng)新的文化，在處理所有的問題。然而，困難，加上文化撞擊所帶來的.挫折，是一種有益的經(jīng)驗對一個人的人格的未來的生活和發(fā)展。
