In paragraph ten, I don’t know the meaning of the first sentence,firstly,I don’t understand the usage of bother ,why the writer use don’t bother to in here, I guess it means that narcissistic showoffs don’t want to be interference from compete, and then I am confused the words there to ,I can’t comprehend the explicit meaning. why the writer using this way in here, but I suppose that the first sentence means narcissistic showoffs don’t want compete with others, even don’t notice it,and I read the second sentence, I found there are five “they”, I don’t understand the meaning of brag, so I look it up in dictionary, it means too much pride about something. the last “they” baffled me, I know the meaning of flag, which means a sign or a mark, but why attention should flag when they go stand on their head the last sentence of paragraph ten, what the meaning of the word around, maybe I guess it means about .
In paragraph eleven, when I read the word “brooding darkly”, I have some questions about them, although I know both of them are adjective, however what are they stand for, I assume that they are modify the mood of the narcissistic showoff, he is depressed because the conversation shifted from his accomplishments, at the same time, there is a little bit disorderly in the last sentence, I organized it again:” suddenly, all of talk getting superficial”. In my opinion, it’s a kind of soothe.
