　　1、as用作固定短語

　　A．as a matter of fact adv. 事實上

　　I'm leaving for Beijing tomorrow, as a matter of fact. 實際情況是我明天就要去北京。

　　B．as a whole adv. 總體上

　　As a whole I don’t like you, but I appreciate your life style. 總體上講，我不喜歡你，但是我喜歡你的生活方式。

　　C． as far as adv. 遠到, 直到, 至于

　　As far as I know, he has gone to London. 據我所知，他去了倫敦。

　　就我所知，他到鎮(zhèn)子上去了。

　　D． as for 至于

　　As for her family I just know that her father died when she was 8.

　　E． As if 好象...似的 仿佛...一樣

　　She spoke to me as if she knew me. 她和我說話的神情，好像她早就認識我似的。

　　F． as long as 只要, 在...的時候

　　參考譯文：盡管每一位歷史學家都有自己對于史學的定義，現代實踐最接近符合這樣一個定義，這個定義把歷史看作是重新創(chuàng)造和解釋過去重要事件的嘗試。

　　4、not so much…as… 與其說…不如說是...
