  英語(yǔ)讀書筆記 篇1

Yesterday I read a book the name of the book is《Dr Bethune》.

Dr bethune was a famous doctor from canada. In 1938 he came to china. At that time china was at war with japan. He worked as a doctor in the chinese army and saved many soldiers’ lives. He worked very hard and became sick.Dr bethune died in 1939.He was only 49 years old. he was a good man and we remember him today.

I think the book is very very good!

These days I am busy preparing my dissertation which is about web usage mining.I read some English papers and learnt much from them. And now I want to say something about a paper titled “web usage mining:discovery and applications of usage patterns from web data”.

This is the first english paper I read about dissertation and gave me great help.

This paper is a review about web usage mining. It introduced web usage mining in detail.Although it is a little old for it was published in xx its contents are very useful today. It is organized according to the sequence of web usage mining and the six main parts are introduction which tells me what is web usage mining the sources and abstraction of web data the three steps of web usage mining taxonomy and project survey websift overview privacy issues. The third and fourth parts are most important. It had a list of existing project about web usage mining which I saw many times in other papers but this paper is the one creating this list.Besides it has been referred for more then twenty times. As we all know that the higher the referred number is the more important the paper is so i consider this paper to be an important and successful one in this region.

In my opinion the success of this paper dues to three reasons. The first reason is the profound computer knowledge owned by the authors.Web usage mining relates to many subjects such as artificial intelligence ontology semantic analysis but the most basic knowledge is computer science. The four authors are all professors of department of computer science and engineering in university of minnesota . for myself i am not major in computer science and i am not very good at computers so i feel a little difficult to understand technologies used in this region.

Second they had read a large number of papers before they wrote this paper. There are fifty nine references listed after main contents.“stand on the shoulders of giants” this sentence tell us a truth: one can never successful all by oneself. And what’s more learn from others can save a lot of time and energy especially for us new learner. How to learn from others is a skill all of us should master but learning doesn’t mean copy or people’s knowledge and production is just our foundation upon this foundation we must have our own thoughts and creation. there are many remarks in this paper where referred other’s production.

Third the authors had the experience of developing a web usage mining project. They don’t just engage in idle theorizing so their comprehension on this issue is greatly profound. they know what we may meet in a real project development and they know how to resolve them. After reading this paper i also read some other papers written in chinese ..some of them are not based on real project and can not give useful resolution. websift is the name of system they developed which can be used to data mining and analysis .

I wrote this article not only because it gave me much help in preparing my dissertation but also because it tells me how to study and how to do research. honesty and preciseness are two essential making a researcher must have.Hard-working is the necessary condition leading to success. This is just the beginning of my dissertation I should learn from these four authors both their knowledge and their attitude to study.

  英語(yǔ)讀書筆記 篇2

"Tess of the D’Urbervilles” is a famous British writer Thomas hardys representative tragic work. Which is a very significant part among his Novels of Character and Environment, but which is also much controversial. The female leading role is a pure, good and beautiful country girl whose name is Tess. Being in a poor family, she has to comply with her mothers persuasion that goes to work in the landlord’ manor. It is here that she is raped by the landlord Alec. Then with pregnancy, she comes back home Unfortunately, not so long after she gives birth to a child, her baby dies of disease. In order to get rid of this terrible shadow, she goes to a milk factory miles away from her home as a milking worker and hopefully lives a complete new life. There, after Tess meets the pastors son Angel Clare, they weave a romantic and beautiful story.

I think Tess must be a kind-hearted girl.

She endured so much pain, but she never complained about others. When she was young, she missed her best love. Then fate began to play jokes with her. A so-called gentleman cheated her and took away the most important thing of an un-married girl. No matter Tess was regretted or not, people around her, contained the church, all of them thought that she was a bad girl. She couldn’t get married. She couldn’t stay home to wait for her parents’ order to get married. She ran away and met her best love. Since she thought that she wasn’t innocence, she stood her deep love of Angel, and put the opportunities to other girls, those who can never compared to her.

At last, she got married to Angel, but the fact of her history made her husband angry and bad-tempered. She tried her best to make her husband happy, but he didn’t care what she had done, how sad she was. Until Angel found that he loved Tess very much, Tess had come back to the disgusted man. True love was a power. Tess killed the man, ran away with Angel, lived in others’ house, and be caught by the police. Although Tess would be in prison and be killed, she wouldn’t regret at last. After all, Angel really loved her at last.

Everybody will day dream sometimes. But we won’t care it any time. Tess’s father was a dreamer. We must think about ourselves. When somebody tells us a thing which is far away from our daily life, we must think about it carefully and investigate the fact. We are not fools. If what they say, what you believe, our world will become a mixture. We all know that we are just citizens of China, and students of Kashgar Teachers’ collage. Life is life. How can we fall into a hole of imagination? This imagination led Tess to death. That was the result.

In the old times of China, people also had a conception of innocence of girls. But did they think about men? Yeah, at that time, men were the host of world. Women just needed to give birth to babies, teach them, and do housework to their husband. That was a duty. Even though at present, we don’t have a judge on men either. We also meet problems on finding jobs. Because those companies think that our women are terrible. We can’t do many things but men can, we will give birth to babies but men don’t, every month we have several days of mental problems but men don’t. That’s unfair. We do so much, so it is right to give more opportunities to us.

At the ball, Tess missed her love. Nowadays, we need to be brave. And when the opportunity is coming, we must catch it in time. If we lose, we can hardly meet it again. The chance is given to the people who get the ready to. So we should prepare and chance will find us. And we need to learn refusing. If Tess refused to made friends with Alec, maybe she could avoid this disaster. In present times, many children know the relationship between women and men earlier. And also many of them don’t know. Actually, our society need to teach them in order to know what will happen or what they should do to protect themselves. Although most parents think that this is a bad thing beyond virtue, but it tends to the young to learn that.

We need forgiveness. We can see that Tess lived in a religion place, but those people didn’t get the thought of kind-hearted and forgiveness. As we are students who have the relief on Marxism, we have learned to be kind-hearted, but how about them? So we should be an atheism. We learn science, not ghosts.

After Tess went to the farm, she met her love again. She was afraid, was under pressure, and was shy on her first feeling of love. Why should we have a crime feeling after making a mistake? Just correct our mistakes, we are good persons too. Of course, we can not make mistakes if we know they are wrong.

We can not avoid problems either. Tess daren’t to tell Angel the truth. When Angel knew that, he couldn’t accept at once. In our daily life, we can meet many difficulties. And we may make mistakes. At that time, we must think highly of it and face it but not to avoid. Fact will come out unless you don’t do it. Most of us can not accept our relatives’ or friends’ betray. So face it earlier, maybe we can get forgiveness earlier.

Another important thing was that Tess’s family had many children. The poor environment made her have to approach to Alec. Should the poor do like this? There are many poor men in our country, but they find jobs for themselves, although the job is very hard to do. They make their own money and endure pains.

I just think of my family. I am the only child of my parents. They love me very much. And most of my life, they had a correct way to teach me. And I have grandparents. When I was young, four of them taught me to do housework. They said that I would be a good girl if I listened to them. And I always listened to them, contained other things, which might be wrong now. This winter vocation I went home. I found that they had many wrong conceptions. So I think that if I was as clever as now when I was young, maybe our family would be a good family. But when I think about the development of our society, my parents and grandparents did a good job already. So I regret a little that I love them not so much. And sometimes I quarreled with them. I should talk to them, right? That is to be a good daughter and granddaughter. Their thought may not catch up with the society. So it’s necessary to us to tell them the right or advanced thing.

Women’s reputation is higher and higher. It is quite different now. Men become good husbands who always listen to their wives. Maybe we must make this situation fairer. Two persons must respect each other, and then life will be better. My parents quarreled in winter vocation. It was a small thing. I don’t know why they quarreled. It seems that if you think more highly of another, you will have more words to say.

Tess is an excellent and outstanding woman. I am in sympathy with her and even admire her qualities and characters. She is a beautiful and noble resistance, but Tess is in the early development of the capitalist era, interwoven with various social contradictions, so simply relying on her own power can not get rid of the tragic fate. I love and take pity on Tess. Although Tess is dead, but her image has been retained in every readers heart forever.

?Girls should be hard working, faithful, loyal, intelligent, and virtuous and the most important thing was she must be a maiden! If her husband was the first man who touched her then she was a good girl, a good wife no matter how she thought. If she wasn’t, then she would gain a very bad reputation and nobody would dare to go near her. What about men? People did not care whether he was an experienced man or not, nor did they care about his character. They thought man equals power and power equals rights.

Now let’s not be so bitter. Nowadays women’s situations have become much better. Some are because of the change of society and some are because of civilization. Just let those poor painful women like TESS be just a memory.

Several years ago, when I was a little girl I have already read the novel Jane Eyre. At that time, I was attracted by the touching story. But today, after watching the movie, I was moved by Jane, the adamant, independent, brave and honest girl. Why did we say Jane was an adamant and independent girl? Let’s look at her childhood. Her parents died when she was a little girl, so she was brought up by her aunt Mrs. Reed, an acute and ruthless woman. Jane led a very bad life in her house. They treated her as badly as a ragtag. But Jane didn’t surrender. Later, she was sent to Lowood school,an orphan school. In there she didn’t get what she had been expecting--simply being regarded as a common person, just the same as any other girl around. Mr. Brocklehurste even asked Jane to stand on the chair and vilipended her in front of all the students. But Jane didn’t yielded. And her only friend Helen died, Jane was very sad, but she was not depressive all the time. Instead, she studied and worked energetically. At last, she became a teacher of logwood, and later became the family teacher of Adele. From her experience, we could found that Jane was independent; she changed her fate by herself. She suffered more than other girls at her age. She was independent both in physically and mentally.

Jane was brave. She dared to say no to Mr. Brocklehurst, cut her beautiful hair with Helen, and pull the horse for Mr. Rochester. What’s more, she dared to accepted Mr. Rochester’s love and pursuit of her own happy life. Though she said:“ Do you think because I am poor, obscure, and little. I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!-I have as much soul as you--and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it was hard for you to leave me, as it is not for me to leave you. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh; it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as it both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God’s feet. In her opinion, everyone is the same at the God’s feet. God hadn’t given her beauty and wealth, but instead, God gave her a kind mind and a thinking brain. These words expressed complete1y Jane ’s rebellious spirit. She told him her own feeling, and emphasized that they were equal.

As we know, there was strict distinguish in social stratum at that time. Mr. Rochester was in the high society, but Jane was only a family teacher. They were in quite different social stratums. What’s worse, in that society, people’s sense of love was on the basis of money. For the sake of money they could marry anyone even though the husband or the wife was an idiot on their eyes, money was everything, money was marriage. But unfortunately Jane was very poor. That’s to say, Jane should receive much rumor from society. In fact, she didn’t afraid of it. On the contrary, she accepted with no hesitation. When she knew Rochester’s wife was dead and he was blind, she went to look after Rochester determinedly. She didn’t care about anything else. And I still remember at the party, all the people from the high society laughed at Jane, they looked down upon Jane. She kept silent though her heart was very exciting. And to their surprise, Miss Ingrain was proved to be a loser, Jane defeated her though Jane had no property and beauty.Jane’ s plainness, poverty, position and disposition were contrasted to Ingrain obviously.Jane drove away those aristocrats from competitive stage.High position and great wealth showed by noble class was put aside.Jane got glorious victory.

Jane was self-respected and self-love. When she knew Rochester had a mad wife and she was still alive. Jane left. She couldn’t bare an incomplete love. She left her lover Rochester with contradiction and pain. Though she still loved him very much. She chose another road, which was endless. She was kind and strict to the moral concept. She couldn’t accept herself do something against the morality. She was self-respect.

To sum up, Jane was a charming girl .What she attracted us was not the beautiful face, lovely figure, and sweet voice .But her brave heart, intelligent brain and adamant character. So we didn’t surprise that Mr. Rochester chose Jane as his bride instead of Miss Ingrain. Because Jane was much mature and richer in soul. As a girl, I should learn from Jane. Especially in the materialistic society we should be in charge of our own fate. Don’t depend on others all the time. We should be independent .Don’t lead a luxurious life and in hope of marring a rich man, thinking that your husband would change your fate, your social position. That’s silly. We should realize that only depend on your own struggle then you could really charge your fate. What’s more, we need to be self-respect and self-love. As far as I am concerned, as a girl if you don’t respect and love yourself, so how do you require others to respect you? In short, we need to learn from Jane Eyre.

In this book, everyone has a quality, everyone has a quality, that is love.

  英語(yǔ)讀書筆記 篇5

Brief introduction: Amir is the son of the famous merchant in Afghanistan. There are two servants in his house, Ali and his son Hassan. Amir plays with Hassan all the time in his childhood. Hassan is Hazara, while Amir is Pashtuns. Hazara is discriminated against by Pashtuns. So although Hassan believes that Amir is his friend, Amir does not agree. Amir tricks Hassan sometimes but Hassan never gets angry. Things go peacefully, until one night Amir sees three boys hit Hassan to the ground. Instead of help Hassan, Amir runs away. From that day on, Amir does not know how to face Hassan. In order not to be regretted every second, Amir finally makes Hassan and Ali leave his home. Just after that, Russian forces Amir’s country. Amir and his father have to move to America.

Comments: This book makes me remember my childhood. The first part of the book is only about some little things in Amir’s childhood. The warm and happy time he has with Hassan. They climb tree and hills, play games and tell stories. I am extremely upset to see Hassan leave. Amir thinks he hurts everyone, Hassan, Ali and his Baba. But the one he hurts most deeply is his own. Hassan leave is a wound in Amir’s heart, and it won’t recover forever. This stuff makes Amir hate the life in Afghanistan, because all the disgusting memories are at here. He always hide, hide himself deeply in the books, in his stories. Afghanistan is a country full of violence, Amir can’t live happily in this environment, his father is a true Afghanistan man, and he has force. But Amir doesn’t. Amir is a light boy who only like literary. He is different from other kids, he need a person to protect. He wants his father’s care and love, but his father hide his love deeply in heart, which makes Amir always feel unneeded. Maybe the true reason of the hurt around Amir is his father.

  Digests:

My cheeks burned and guilt coursed through me, the guilt of indulging myself at the expense of his ulcer, his black fingernails and aching wrists. But I would stand my ground, I decided.

I blinked my heart quickening. She had thick black eyebrows that touched in the middle like the arched wings of a flying bird, and the gracefully hooked nose of a princess from old Persia-maybe that of Tahmineh.

They fell from the sky like shooting stars with brilliant, rippling tails, showering the neighborhoods below with prizes for the kite runners.

It just appeared, this other face, for a fraction of a moment, long enough to leave me with the unsettling feeling that maybe I’d seen it someplace before. Then Hassan blinked and it was just him again. Just Hassan.

  Page: 163-401

Brief introduction: Amir becomes a popular writer. He meets a girl named Soraya in USA. They fall in love and get married. But they can’t have babies. His father died because of the illness. One of his father’s old friends calls him and invites Amir to his house. He tells the story over 20 years about Hassan and his family. He tells Amir that Hassan and his wife were killed by Taliban and he

asks Amir to find Hassan’s son, Sohrab. After a hard and dangerous trip with Talib, Amir does find Sohrab and wins his trust. But in order to get the visa to USA, Amir asks Sohrab to stay in the orphan for a year while Amir promised Sohrab before never send him to there. Sohrab try to kill himself because of this. Although he is overcome then, he refuses to say a word for a long time. Amir takes him back to USA and treats him good, waiting for his forgiveness. Then a kite competition held and Amir sees Sohrab’s smile when he wins. Amir sees the hope.

Comments: I can’t explain whether it is a happy or tragic ending. But I can say that Sohrab will get better and be a normal boy. Amir is hard-working. He cares about Hassan’s things. And he is always regretful for kicking Hassan out of his home. He thinks that Hassan died because of his action. He feels shamed. But he is a real human who has the sickness of humanity. That is why he would refuse to find Sohrab at the beginning and that’s why he asks Sohrab to go to orphan after promised not to. Certainly he does wrong things but in another way he does things anybody would choose to do. This book is not only about family and friends, is also about a kind of target or force, to help you run on whether if life is easy or hard.

Digests: We let him wrap us in his arms and, for a brief insane moment, I was glad about whatever had happened that night. (Predicative clause)

It was a protective gesture and I knew whom Ali was protecting him from. (Object clause)

I had crossed a line, and whatever little hope I had of getting out alive had vanished with those words. (Subject clause)

I had no idea if Hassan would still be there, if anyone would even know of him or his whereabouts. (Appositive clause)

Tonight I watched the movie for the third time. I really enjoy this film so much.

So what's your choice between being a common person or a hero with people's reects? Most people will choose the latter. But what will be your choice if the cost is laying your lover among the risks? What will it be if the cost is you can never tell the girl, who you love so much, that you love her? The ider man had this contradiction. But finally he still chose the latter, not in order to be a hero, but to make this word peaceful.

I was so moved by the words the Aunt Mary said:

You will never guess what he wants to be, the ider man. He knows the hero when he sees one, too a few characters out there, flying all around out there, saving old girls like me. Lord knows kids like Henry need hero courageous, sacrificing for people, setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero. People enthrone them, cheer them, scream their names and years later they will tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse the one who taught them to hold on to stand longer. I believe there is a hero in all of us. They keep us be honest, give us strength, make us noble, and finally allow us to die with proud. Ever though sometimes we have to initiatively give up the thing we want most, even our dreams. Spider man did that for Henry, so he wants to know where he is gone. He needs him.

The ider man got much from these words, so did I. And what about you? what's the hero lying in you?

Recently,I have just finished reading a famous novel written by Margaret mitchell-“Gone with the Wind”,which is one of the most popular works among American novels. It took the auther about 10 years to finish this great novel, the only novel in her life. The story happened during the Civil War eve.Scarlett O'Hara,a 16-year-old girl, who was living in Tala manor in Georgia, was loving her neighbor Ashley Wilkes. However, after the war have broken out, Ashley Wilkes married his yonger cousin Melanie. Scarlett was so angry that she decided to marry a man she didn?t really love---- Charles long after that, Charles Hamilton joined the Army and died of illness in the war.So Scarlett had to act as a widow.Afterwards,at a donating dance party,Scarlett is acquainted with a captain named Rhett Butler. Then the flames of war approached Atlanta.Everyone was busy leaving away from the war.Scarlett managed to escape from Atlanta with the help of captain Rhett.Having come back to Tala manor,Scarlett made up her mind to rally her homeland at any cost when she saw that the former manor had been ruined.Later, her second husband died in the fight, she was a widow again.Durling that time, Rhett had been loving Scarlett sincerely and warmly.Seeing that Rhett could help her rally the manor,Scarlett married.

him.Although Rhett had similar characteristic attracting her,Scarlett still loved Ashley.Later, their only daughter died accidently,Rhett left Scarlett sorrowly. And then Scarlett realized that Rhett was the only one who could fall in love with her.

The novel takes the US Civil War as the background. It takes Scarlett?s individual activity as the thread. The book show us a tragic love story .A couple who could have a perfect future, but finnally go in opposite direction. As a matter of fact, their charactristics have decided their tragic result inevitably. We feel sorry about the end because we are looking forward to a perfect end, just like Scarlett and Rhett. In fact, ferfect is always a excessive damand.

I affirm Rhett. He brings excitement to Scarlett?s life and encourages her impulse to change and succeed.Like Scarlett,he goes after what he wants and refuses to take ?no? for an answer. He is humorous, intelligent and cynical with a hint of treason. He is really a respectable man.I think he finnally left because of love .Otherwise,he couldn?t have gone without hesitation.

Ashley Wilkes is the foil to Rhett?s dark, realistic opportunism. If there was no Civil War,he is surely a nobility of grace and charm. But history cannot be changed. He bocame a victim of the war.His era was gone with the defeat of the war.At the same time,we cannot deny the

fact that he had a chear understanding about reality, which just contribute to his tragedy.

In this book, what I appreciate most is not Melanie?skindness or Rheet?s dedication and patience, but Scarlett?s courage to throw her long-standing morality and tradition whe faced with diffiiculties. At the beginning of the war,she didn?t care about this.In her world are endless dinner parties and dance parties. In her body are her father?s brave Irish blood and her mother?s noble French pure blood. She had a vast farm as her home. She had hundreds of slaves. This is Scarlett.,a member of noblity, proud and different. However, the war changed everything. Her mother died of illness. Her father become silent and the farm was nearly deserted.Even food became a big problem. All the pressure was put on Scarlett?s shoulder. She must feed a family of 9 people in it.What a big difference of level. If all this happened to someone else,he or she may choose to the contrary,Scarlett choose to face the change of life bravely. How can we not admire her courage of to change herself.Life is like a mountain. The road can?t be completely smooth. When we fall down from the peak,we may get hert ,we may get disappointed,we may feel despair. But if you want to survive, you must stand up to face it.

It is obvious that <> is really a good book, even if a long time has passed away,it is still suitable for today?s

society. It is of great importance to change ourselves, change our value even our thoughts when our life chages.

On the other hand,I think there is no real perfect in the world.Everybody has his shortcomings. It is necessary for us to learn to forgive others? faults. If we keep good-tempered,Ibelieve there will be more comedy and less tragedy.

I first read "Jane Eyre" in eighth grade and have read it every few years since. It is one of my favorite novels, and so much more than a gothic romance to me, although thats how I probably would have defined it at age 13. I have always been struck, haunted in a way, by the characters - Jane and Mr. Rochester. They take on new depth every time I meet them.and theirs is a love story for the ages.

Charlotte Brontes first published novel, and her most noted work, is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story. Jane is plain, poor, alone and unprotected, but due to her fierce independence and strong will she grows and is able to defy societys expectations of her. This is definitely feminist literature, published in 1847, way before the beginning of any feminist movement. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why the novel has had such a wide following since it first came on the market. It is also one of the first gothic romances published and defines the genre.

Jane Eyre, who is our narrator, was born into a poor family. Her parents died when she was a small child and the little girl was sent to live with her Uncle and Aunt Reed at Gateshead. Janes Uncle truly cared for her and showed his affection openly, but Mrs. Reed seemed to hate the orphan, and neglected her while she pampered and spoiled her own children. This unfair treatment emphasized Janes status as an unwanted outsider. She was often punished harshly. On one occasion her nasty cousin Jack picked a fight with her. Jane tried to defend herself and was locked in the terrifying "Red Room" as a result. Janes Uncle Reed had died in this room a little while before, and Mrs. Reed knew how frightened she was of the chamber. Since Jane is the narrator, the reader is given a first-hand impression of the childs feelings, her heightened emotional state at being imprisoned. Indeed, she seems almost like an hysterical child, filled with terror and rage. She repeatedly calls her condition in life "unjust" and is filled with bitterness. Looking into the mirror Jane sees a distorted image of herself. She views her reflection and sees a "strange little figure," or "tiny phantom." Jane has not learned yet to subordinate her passions to her reason. Her passions still erupt unchecked. Her isolation in the Red Room is a presentiment of her later isolation from almost every society and community. This powerful, beautifully written scene never fails to move me.

Mrs. Reed decided to send Jane away to the Lowood School, a poor institution run by Mr. Brocklehurst, who believed that suffering made grand people. All the children there were neglected, except to receive harsh punishment when any mistake was made. At Lowood, Jane met Helen Burns, a young woman a little older than Jane, who guided her with vision, light and love for the rest of her life. Janes need for love was so great. It really becomes obvious in this first friendship. Helen later died from fever, in Janes arms. Her illness and death could have been avoided if more attention had been paid to the youths. Jane stayed at Lowood for ten years, eight as a student and two as a teacher. Tired and depressed by her surroundings, Jane applied for the position of governess and found employment at Thornfield. The mansion is owned by a gentleman named Edward Fairfax Rochester. Her job there was to teach his ward, an adorable little French girl, Adele. Over a long period the moody, inscrutable Rochester confides in Jane and she in him. The two form an unlikely friendship and eventually fall in love. Again, Janes need for love comes to the fore, as does her passionate nature. She blooms. A dark, gothic figure, Rochester also has a heart filled with the hope of true love and future happiness with Jane. Ironically, he has brought all his misery, past and future, on himself.

All is not as it seems at Thornfield. There is a strange, ominous woman servant, Grace Poole, who lives and works in an attic room. She keeps to herself and is rarely seen. From the first, however, Jane has sensed bizarre happenings at night, when everyone is asleep .There are wild cries along with violent attempts on Rochesters life by a seemingly unknown person. Jane wonders why no one investigates Mrs. Poole. Then a strange man visits Thornfield and mysteriously disappears with Mr. Rochester. Late that night Jane is asked to sit with the man while the lord of the house seeks a doctors help. The man has been seriously wounded and is weak from loss of blood. He leaves by coach, in a sorry state, first thing in the morning. Janes questions are not answered directly. This visit will have dire consequences on all involved. An explosive secret revealed will destroy all the joyful plans that Jane and Rochester have made. Jane, once more will face poverty and isolation.

Charlotte Brontes heroine Jane Eyre, may not have been graced with beauty or money, but she had a spirit of fire and was filled with integrity and a sense of independence - character traits that never waned in spite of all the oppression she encountered in life. Ms. Bronte brings to the fore in "Jane Eyre" such issues as: the relations between men and women in the mid-19 century, womens equality, the treatment of children and of women, religious faith and hypocrisy (and the difference between the two), the realization of selfhood, and the nature of love and passion. This is a powerhouse of a novel filled with romance, mystery and passions. It is at once startlingly fresh and a portrait of the times. Ms. Bronte will make your heart beat faster, your pulse race and your eyes fill with tears.

For our teachers to learn new knowledge to face new challenges, but also can not be ignored. It provides us with mental and intellectual support. As Golgi said, "no power is stronger than knowledge, and men armed with knowledge are invincible."But because of the restrictions, workers can not as to the students sitting in the classroom learning, reading has become our best knowledge of weapons, through books, we can make full use of spare time, it is not restricted by space, easy to learn something new, expanded new ideas. In general, the benefits of reading for our personal growth can be expressed in several ways.

First, reading can allow us to stand at a higher level to look at the problem, thus making fewer mistakes and less detours.

Newton said that he can get such a huge success, because standing on the shoulders of giants to see farther, the natural science giants very modest worthy of our study, we can also learn something more valuable. The relation of books to the whole human being is like the relation of memory to the individual.Books record the history of mankind, record all new discoveries, and record the accumulated knowledge and experience of ancient and modern dynasties.

Only when we carefully study the experience and theory of our predecessors can we look at the problem at a higher level, stop making the same mistakes, and have a higher starting point.Books are the crystallization of former wisdom, the embodiment of their research results and experience, and through their study, they find something useful for the basis of previous experience, constantly improve themselves, greatly promoted the growth of a great extent, it can be said that the continuity and development of human society is also realized.Just imagine, if everyone is from the beginning, then no matter how great people make great contributions, human society is still standing in place. From this point of view, it is more important to read.

  Two. Reading broadens one's horizons

The knowledge in books is all encompassing. He can broaden our horizons and make our knowledge more comprehensive. In order to be able to think more deeply, things are widely related, many modern practice have proved the relationship between all kinds of information, if only know a field of information development will inevitably hinder their own, learn more knowledge, can make the future uncertain risk to the minimum.Just as a stock holder should understand today's political and economic situation in order to better analyze stock movements.Scholars of physics must have some chemistry and other bases in order to achieve that a Nobel prize winner said in his speech at Fudan University that modern science has no boundaries, and that you must know something about it.

In this regard, the great teacher Engels is a wide range of learning model, although he only went to high school, but because of his hard study, the age of nineteen can use twelve kinds of language and writing, in practice, he never stopped learning and research, and from Marx was known as a department of an encyclopedia.Extensive deep knowledge of Engels, guiding the international communist movement and accurate dissemination of scientific communism theory is of great help.

From its experience, we can realize the power of knowledge and realize the great role of books as a powerful weapon for human beings to master the power of knowledge.

Three, reading helps us to set up a correct outlook on life

There is no good and no evil in life, and the key is correct guidance. In the process of growing up, a mentor can play a very active role, and books are such a person.A good book is like a good teacher. It can teach you how to behave yourself and be a useful person in society.Books can comfort our minds and free us from sorrow and pain; books can turn dry years into pleasant times. The book will be a variety of beliefs into our mind, make us full of joy and lofty thoughts, so that we lost the soul forget.

Therefore, we should advocate and support reading, read ten thousand books, walk ten thousand miles, be a qualified teacher, so as to promote the vigorous and healthy development of education.

Hamlet " of Shakespear is a classical representative work. This book certainly does not have the big difference in the superficial plot with the historical fable, spoke or the Danish prince the story which revenged for the father, in which fills the rank smell of blood violence and dies.Just like the dramatis personae Horatio said: " you may hear to to rape massacre, the unusual repair behavior, the dark center decision, accidental slaughter, borrows the hand murder,as well as falls into suicide result." Windingly elects the plot, tightly centers on the revenge to launch. Hamlet Wittenberg hurries back the home in a hurry from Germany, is attends his father's funeral, enables him to accept, he not catches up with father's funeral, actually witnessed the mother and the Uncle Claudius' wedding ceremony, this had caused Hamm the Wright suspicion at the heart, added night above meets in the royal palace castle with father's ghost, the ghost sorrow sued, this pile atrocity was Uncle Hamlet the behavior, and wanted him to revenge for the this, he started the difficult revenge course, launched the life and death contest with Claudius. These days I am busy preparing my dissertation which is about web usage mining.I read some English papers and learnt much from now I want to say something about a paper titled “web usage mining:discovery and applications of usage patterns from web data”.

This is the first english paper I read about dissertation and gave me great help.

This paper is a review about web usage introduced web usage mining in ough it is a little old for it was published in xx its contents are very useful is organized according to the sequence of web usage mining and the six main parts are introduction which tells me what is web usage mining the sources and abstraction of web data the three steps of web usage mining taxonomy and project survey websift overview privacy third and fourth parts are most had a list of existing project about web usage mining which I saw many times in other papers but this paper is the one creating this des it has been referred for more then twenty we all know that the higher the referred number is the more important the paper is so i consider this paper to be an important and successful one in this region.

In my opinion the success of this paper dues to three first reason is the profound computer knowledge owned by the usage mining relates to many subjects such as artificial intelligence ontology semantic analysis but the most basic knowledge is computer four authors are all professors of department of computer science and engineering in university of minnesota. for myself i am not major in computer science and i am not very good at computers so i feel a little difficult to understand technologies used in this region.

Second they had read a large number of papers before they wrote this e are fifty nine references listed after main contents.“stand on the shoulders of giants” this sentence tell us a truth: one can never successful all by what’s more learn from others can save a lot of time and energy especially for us new to learn from others is a skill all of us should master but learning doesn’t mean copy or people’s knowledge and production is just our foundation upon this foundation we must have our own thoughts and creation. there are many remarks in this paper where referred other’s production.

Third the authors had the experience of developing a web usage mining don’t just engage in idle theorizing so their comprehension on this issue is greatly profound. they know what we may meet in a real project development and they know how to resolve r reading this paper i also read some other papers written in chinese of them are not based on real project and can not give useful resolution. websift is the name of system they developed which can be used to data mining and analysis .

I wrote this article not only because it gave me much help in preparing my dissertation but also because it tells me how to study and how to do research. honesty and preciseness are two essential making a researcher must -working is the necessary condition leading to is just the beginning of my dissertation I should learn from these four authors both their knowledge and their attitude to study.

The Red and the Black is a profound and witty book about the rise of a poor, handsome and intellectually gifted, young provincial into the salons of High Society in Paris.

Handsome and ambitious, Julien Sorel is determined to rise above his humble peasant origins and make something of his life-by adopting the code of hypocrisy by which his society operates. Julien ultimately commits a crime-out of passion, principle, or insanity-that will bring about his downfall. The Red and the Black is a lively, satirical picture of French Restoration society after Waterloo, riddled with corruption, greed, and ennui. The complex, sympathetic portrayal of Julien, the cold exploiter whose Machiavellian campaign is undercut by his own emotions, makes him Stendhal's most brilliant and human creation-and one of the greatest characters in European literature.

I really enjoyed this book. Unlike many reviewers, I feel the book does transcend time. American people and culture today, computers and all, are a lot like those in Stendhal's 19th century France.

The main characters strike me as real, and quite complex. Julien is a typical adolescent/ young adult: Idealistic, searching and unsure of himself. To me, it is amazing to what how the world interacts with and alters his self-image. Mathilde is equally interesting. She reminds me of a flighty alternative girl, looking for a dream of simmering romance. And MME de Renal is a wonderful, believable woman, falling in love late in life, victim of the missing husband syndrome.

Like people today, Stedhal's characters are a bundle of contradictions. Is Julien a villain, an angel, a self-serving climber or a man truly in love, searching for his higher self? Aloof or loveable? Is MME de Renal a devout, moral patroness, devoted to her family, or the vilest of adulators, ready to turn her back on duty for the simmer of love? Is Mathilde submissive, or arrogant and dominant? The answer to all questions is yes. We are all divided.

Be honest with yourself for a minute. Aren't people sometimes cruel, and sometimes kind; Sometimes, honest, sometimes mildly deceitful, telling white lies, and sometimes bold-faced liars? Since Stendhal is faithful to this, and does not give us character in black and white, he has produced a masterpiece.
