One night a hotel caught fire，and the people who were staying in it ran out in their night clothes.
Two men stood outside and looked at the fire.
“Before I came out，” said one，“I ran into some of the rooms and found a lot of money. People don't think of money when they're afraid. When anyone leaves paper money in a fire，the fire burns it. So I took all the bills that I could find.No one will be poorer because I took them.”
“You don't know my work，” said the other.
“What is your work?”
“I'm a policeman.
“Oh!” cried the first man. He thought quickly and said，“And do you know my work?”“No，”said the policeman.
“I'm a writer. I'm always telling stories about things that never happened.”

假如我當(dāng)選了英語課代表，首先我?guī)ьI(lǐng)成績(jī)好的同學(xué)，去幫助學(xué)習(xí)有困難的同學(xué)，告訴他們學(xué)習(xí)英語的好方法然后，我會(huì)在同學(xué)面前樹立榜樣，改掉壞毛病。作業(yè)認(rèn)認(rèn)真真地做，一步一個(gè)腳印，保持成績(jī)優(yōu)秀我會(huì)認(rèn)真對(duì)待每一個(gè)科目，上課認(rèn)真聽講，絕不馬虎。我還會(huì)在早讀前，播放一些有關(guān)英語的資料，如：英語新聞，英語的來歷……豐富我們的'課余生活。班級(jí)氣氛明顯變得更濃厚，大家的學(xué)習(xí)生活也不再是枯燥無味的。最后，我要與同學(xué)們和睦相處，尊重他人，與班級(jí)成為一個(gè)共同體。若同學(xué)們有不懂的地方，我會(huì)為同學(xué)們解答。遇到困難時(shí)，我會(huì)鼓勵(lì)大家，再苦再累，我也不會(huì)有半句怨言。

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease.
This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20.
Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.
Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.
Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing appetite for what's next and the joy of the game of living.
In the center of your heart and my heart, there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, courage and power from man and from the infinite, so long as you are young.
When your aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you've grown old, even at 20;
but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there's hope you may die young at 80.
