10月18日，白俄羅斯全民公決結(jié)果揭曉，總統(tǒng)亞歷山大·盧卡申科可能繼續(xù)留在他已經(jīng)坐了10年的總統(tǒng)寶座上。但是，這一結(jié)果并不為西方國(guó)家所樂(lè)見(jiàn)，美國(guó)于18日發(fā)表聲明，譴責(zé)白俄羅斯的選舉是“不公”的，并沒(méi)有使選民真正得到表達(dá)意愿和自由選擇的機(jī)會(huì)。新華社報(bào)道如下：The United States on Monday criticized the Belarus elections for so-called "electoral misconduct", saying "It does not look like the voters of Belarus were given a fair choice or a fair chance to express their choice."

"The election was seriously flawed, didn't meet standards," State Department spokesman Richard Boucher told a regular news briefing.

"We deeply regret that the Belorussian people were kept from freely and fairly expressing their will," Boucher said.
